Amazon - Double Yellow Head   Arriving soon

The beak of the double yellow-head is horn colored. Double-yellowheaded Amazons are one of the top five most popular species of Amazons kept as pets — and for good reason. They are renowned for their outstanding mimicry abilities and their magnificently beautiful plumage. Entire head and throat yellow. Bend of wing pale red with some yellow intermingled. Beak is horn-colored.

Double-yellowheaded Amazons have headstrong, lively personalities and can be quite gregarious with both people and birds. Flashy, intelligent and full of the joys of life, these parrots happily thrive in a family with an active lifestyle. They easily learn tricks and various commands, and respond willingly for praise or a treat. Comical and bold, double-yellowheaded Amazons are rarely shy. They can be willful, however, and need an owner capable of accepting their strong personality.

The Yellow Crowned Amazon makes an excellent pet. Those lucky enough to have one in their homes boast of their friendly nature and excellent talking abilities.

The Yellow Crowned Amazon is known for his loud voice. All Amazons are loud and the Yellow Crowned is perhaps the loudest. Plumage is largely green. His eyes are marked by orange irises. Rainbow markings touch this beautiful bird in many areas. Yellow markings can be seen at the crown, lores, and thighs, and can occasionally be seen in the areas around the eyes. Many have described these yellow markings as a 'cap'. Red markings appear at the bend of the wing, while a yellowish green color marks the edges. The wings are indeed spectacular, as the primaries exhibit a lovely violet-blue, with secondaries also possessing this striking violet-blue at the tips and outer webs. The tail has a yellowish green base with red tail feathers. His gray bill is marked by reddish sides and an upper mandible. He also has gray feet.

The Yellow-Naped Amazon is a wonderful parrot that has a superb ability to mimic human speech. It has a spicy personality.

Overall plumage green; details: slightly black edge on nape forehead, and crownfeathers; can have yellow around eyes; band to nape yellow; bend of wings green; edge of wing yellowish-green; tail green with yellowish green tip; base to outer tail feathers red; whitish ring around eye; bill dark grey.

A medium to noisy parrot, these have very loud voices. As pets they are generally very loyal and is the best talker of all the Amazons, they love to sing even opera. They can be noisy early in the morning so keep a pet bird covered over night. These parrots are not shy and enjoying bathing especially during hotter weather, they love you to spray under their wings and will happily hold out their wings for you to do this. Hand reared babies make good pets; but they are strong willed and need firm handling. Don't be afraid to discipline them when needed.

 
Amazon - Lilac Crowned   SOLD

The Lilac Crown Amazon is a favorite among many, and it's not surprising. This parrot has a sweet disposition and is quite lovely to behold. In addition, he is also an intelligent companion that will provide his owners with many years of happiness.

Lilac Crown Amazons do well in homes with families. If they are socialized well from an early age, they tend to get along well with all family members; this is often not the case with many Amazons. The Lilac Crowned Amazon displays a very even temperament that stays throughout adulthood. Best known for his even-tempered disposition, the Lilac Crown Amazon is a favorite among parrot fanciers. They tend to be more shy than some of the other Amazon species.

Like most amazons, the primary color of the Lilac Crown is green. His body is accented in many colors. Greenish yellow feathers can be seen decorating the front of his crown, abdomen, ear coverlets, chest, and cheeks. His lores, forehead, and the front of his crown are a reddish brown or maroon color, while pale blue is seen on his nape and the sides of his neck. The wings and tail feathers of the Lilac Crown are quite stunning. The secondary feathers of the wings are seen in a striking violet blue, with red-wing speculum seen on the first five feathers. His tail is green with yellow tips, featuring blue feathers towards the outside of the tail. The colors of the Lilac Crown mature with age. His feet are gray. His beak is yellowish, and his eyes possess a lovely orange iris.

 
Amazon - Mealey   Available Now

The Mealy Parrot Amazon is one of the largest Amazon parrot species. The species is called the Mealy Amazon in the United States and the Blue-crowned Mealy Parrot in the United Kingdom.

Though less colorful than related parrot species, Mealy Parrots have a patch of blue, purple, or violet on the top of their heads. Along with the purple or blue crown, Mealy Parrot sometimes have patches of yellow on the head and usually have a green or mostly green body, with tail feathers being light green or lime at the tip. Some Mealy Parrots have a light blue/teal sheen to their green coat, and an undercoat of yellow, blue, purple, red, and/or teal. The beaks are usually yellowish. The eyes are a reddish-orange color, and underneath the eyes are usually white unfeathered rings.

Mealy Amazons are considered the gentle giants of the Amazon parrots and is not a naturally aggressive species. In fact, they have a very docile temperament and usually get along well with other birds. The noise level and talking abilities vary greatly amongst this species. There are some quiet birds amongst them -- but others can get very noisy. In fact, their voices can carry over a mile. Mealies enjoy repeating a phrase over and over; each time using a different inflection.

 
Amazon - Blue Fronted    

Blue-Fronts have a reputation for being either very sweet, or very vicious birds, depending on things like enviroment and natural temperment. Some can be very docile, and loving in the hands of their companion people, while being attack birds when anyone else is involved. Known for being territorial, it is important to establish good step-up training with these parrots in order to be able to do things such as clean cages and change food and water. Hens have a reputation for being slightly less aggressive, but this does not hold true to all hens. Some males will be more docile, and some hens more voilitile than expected, a lot of this is a matter of how they are raised by their human care takers.

The Blue Fronted Amazon parrot will average from thirteen to fifteen inches in length. Its feathers are primarily green with darker green edges and a bright blue forehead. Its crown will often show blue and white feathers. They will also have bright yellow markings on the crown, cheeks and ears and their wings will often be red or a combination of red and yellow. Coloring is very variable on the Blue Fronted Amazon parrot and each bird will have unique shading and patterns.

 
Amazon - Orange Winged    

The Orange-winged Amazon is green from head to tail, with the under parts a bit lighter green, the feathers on the back of the neck and upper back being edged with a dusky black, and there are hints of blues in the throat and on the crown. The tail is green tipped with a light yellowish-green, has some oranges on the underside, and some green barring on the top. They have a distinct yellow-orange on the crown, on the bend and speculum of the wings, and on the front of the cheeks. The rest of the cheek is a bright green and they often fluff their cheeks out, making them look like they have "mutton chop" sideburns. The beak is a horn color becoming gray at the tip, the eye is orange, and the legs are a pale gray. Juveniles are mostly green with few of the yellow-orange or blue feathers and their eyes are dark brown.

The Red Lored Amazon has a personality as beautiful as his face. This parrot might make a great addition to an Amazon lover's household. When most people think of affectionate parrots they usually think of Cockatoos. The red-Lored Amazon is almost always described by their owners as, affectionate and cuddly. The affection and loyalty displayed by the Red-Lored Amazon is only one reason why they make such wonderful pets, another is their striking beauty. Their colorful faces have caused many to claim they are one of the most beautiful Amazons. Some owners also report they are good talkers. Others report only a couple words.

The Red-Lored Amazon is most noted for his red lores and yellow cheeks. The later explains why he is also commonly known as the 'Yellow Cheeked Amazon'. Like most Amazons, the Red Lored's plumage is mostly green, around his crown, and the green is edged in a beautiful lilac-blue. The Red-Lored is quite spectacular when he spreads his beautiful wings. The rainbow of colors include secondaries that turn a marvelous deep blue at the tips, and the first five feathers display red wing speculum. His tail is also quite pretty, in green with greenish yellow tips and outer web in blue. His beak is gray with a yellow horn color on the upper mandible. His legs are greenish gray.
